How to review shoes before international shipping

Use the source listing, your recorded order options and the warehouse images together. The goal is to resolve visible, decision-relevant questions—not to turn photographs into a guarantee.

A useful footwear check starts with identity and fit, not cosmetic details. Confirm the ordered size system, colourway and version before comparing the pair. Seller charts may use EU, US, UK or centimetre-based sizing, so keep the exact option name and ask for a visible size label or insole measurement when fit is important.

Warehouse photographs can reveal shape, symmetry and visible construction, but they cannot tell you how a shoe feels after several hours, how cushioning performs or how long materials will last. Treat every image as evidence for a specific visible question rather than a general promise of quality.

Resolve sizing before style

Compare the seller chart with the insole or foot length you normally use, not only a familiar size number. If an insole is removable, a heel-to-toe insole measurement is easier to interpret than estimating from an exterior shot. Allow for socks and the intended fit, and record the system used so EU 42 is not confused with another scale.

Compare the pair as a pair

Place left and right shoes in the same frame whenever possible. Look at toe-box height, heel-counter shape, panel alignment, lace-hole position and the curve of each outsole. Perspective can make the nearer shoe look larger, so use several views before deciding that a difference is real.

Inspect joins, not just logos

Follow the line where the upper meets the sole, then inspect stitched panels and glued edges. Small glue traces may be cosmetic; an open seam, lifting edge or consistently uneven join is more decision-relevant. Ask for one focused close-up when the original image is too soft to judge.

  • Outsole edges, heel tabs and toe areas are fully visible.
  • Stitching and glued joins do not show obvious openings.

  • The box or protective packing suits the chosen shipping method.

What shoppers usually need to clarify

Can QC photos prove that shoes fit true to size?+

No. They can confirm a label and sometimes a measurement, but fit also depends on last shape, width, socks and personal preference. Compare an actual measurement with footwear that already fits you.

Is visible glue always a serious defect?+

Not necessarily. Minor residue can be cosmetic. A separated edge, lifting sole or open join is more important. Use a sharp close-up to distinguish surface residue from a structural gap.

What extra shoe photo is usually most useful?+

Ask for the missing decision evidence: a paired heel view for symmetry, a close-up of a suspect seam, or an insole measurement for fit. A specific request is better than simply asking for more photos.
